Destination Master Planning: Stakeholder Engagement

Destination Greater Victoria’s work is for the benefit and well-being of everyone in our community. Regional opportunities including job creation, economic activity and spending, tax revenues and infrastructure investment, all have direct links to the visitor economy. Investing in sustainable tourism is an investment in opportunities and quality of life for all the residents of Greater Victoria.

We know the future of the visitor economy in Greater Victoria will depend on the collaboration between Indigenous communities, governments, private enterprise, and civic organizations in developing a shared vision for the future that supports growth while enhancing the community for residents. Two of our most important goals in this process are to enhance regional partnership, and to develop a collaborative vision and a sustainable destination plan that will serve the region for years to come.

Between December, 2022, and March, 2023, Destination Greater Victoria, together with MMGY NextFactor, will be reaching out to stakeholders to participate in the process in a number of ways, including one-on-one interviews, focus groups, and a comprehensive DestinationNEXT Survey.
