Destination Master Planning: Residents

We are committed to Greater Victoria’s economic, environmental and social outcomes through sustainable tourism.  The people who work at Destination Greater Victoria believe in Greater Victoria’s shared community values and are committed to positive futures for our families, our friends, and our neighbours. This is our community. It is why we do what we do.

The lines between “tourist” and resident are blurring with the move to remote work and other non-traditional employee-employer relationships.  This new cohort of the visitor economy can have transformational affects on the development and vibrancy of our community. New amenities like restaurants, shops, galleries, museums, attractions, and improved transportation links benefit residents and visitors alike. 

Tourism Master Planning is critical in identifying and prioritizing opportunities for enhancements to the resident and visitor experience and will position Greater Victoria as a desirable place to live, work and visit.

We want to hear from you! 

We will soon be launching an online survey for residents. The information gathered will be included with other data we collect from stakeholders including Indigenous communities, tourism partners, civic organizations and government to inform the plan and ensure we capture what is important to the communities we serve.
